My Story

Welcome! I’m Charlie, founder of this pretty little creative haven that you have stumbled across. Here at The Hidden Pearl Studio, I find myself living a simple but vividly creative day to day life, but the journey to this place, with my soul deeply rooted and my head in the pretty blush clouds, has been a long and an unusual one.

Picture a young receptionist in a city hotel, with little direction, desires she couldn’t put words to, creativity that resembled ashes, and a world of pain inside. Then, very suddenly— life dramatically was transformed against her will; she found herself physically, mentally and emotionally burnt out. Diagnosis’, brokenness, and sudden stillness.

Stillness is possibly your worst nightmare when you’ve been running away from your pretty little soul your entire life. Wandering through fields of pain, wrestling, rediscovering, stripping back, and digging deep, I found springs of creativity, life and hope buried beneath. Through a healing journey (that still continues), I was found by Jesus. Stumbling imperfectly into a new world full of art, papergoods, wild poetry that is full of hope; into a World where I saw the Beautiful One in the simple mundane life surrounding me. My hope is that whether through my art, papergoods, gifts or my words, that my story would infuse you with hope and a confidence that YOU. ARE. NOT. ALONE. and you are loved deeper than you know.

I live a simple life, running my dreamy home studio in the English countryside alongside my sweetie pie cat, Simba. You can usually find me dressed in baggy clothes, drinking tea with my kin, exploring wild fields and forests, day dreaming of pink moons and our Kind Creator, Jesus, with my head in a poetry book and folk music on repeat (on repeat, I tell you!).
